OPTIMALISASI KESEHATAN LANSIA MELALUI DETEKSI DINIGULA DARAH SEWAKTU (GDS) DAN EDUKASI PENCEGAHANSTROKE DI SEKOLAH LANSIA PONDOK GEDE

Latar Belakang: Peningkatan prevalensi penyakit tidak menular pada populasi geriatri di Pondok Gede menuntut intervensi proaktif guna mencegah komplikasi vaskular berat seperti stroke. Sekolah Lansia Pondok Gede (POGE) merupakan mitra strategis untuk implementasi skrining kesehatan komunitas. Tujuan: Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan
kemandirian kesehatan lansia melalui deteksi dini profil glikemik dan edukasi komprehensifmengenai pencegahan stroke. Metode: Pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan dengan desain partisipatif terhadap 135 siswa lansia. Intervensi meliputi skrining klinis (Gula Darah Sewaktu/GDS dan tekanan darah), senam lansia, penyuluhan spesialis saraf, serta stimulasi kognitif melalui aktivitas psikososial. Hasil: Skrining menunjukkan variabilitas glikemik yang signifikan. Ditemukan 3,7% peserta dengan hiperglikemia kritis (GDS mencapai 419 mg/dL dan 435 mg/dL) serta kasus hipoglikemia (53 mg/dL) yang membahayakan keselamatan pasien. Mayoritas peserta (72,6%) berada pada rentang normal.
Edukasi meningkatkan kesadaran akan manajemen risiko vaskular. Kesimpulan: Deteksi dini melalui pemeriksaan GDS efektif dalam mengidentifikasi kelompok risiko tinggi yang memerlukan rujukan klinis segera. Monitoring kesehatan berkala sangat krusial untuk menjaga profil hemodinamika lansia.
Background: The rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases in the geriatric population of Pondok Gede necessitates proactive intervention to prevent severe vascular complications like stroke. The Pondok Gede Elderly School (POGE) serves as a strategic partner for community health screening. Objective: This activity aims to enhance elderly health independence through early detection of glycemic profiles and comprehensive education on stroke prevention. Methods: This community service used a participatory design involving 135 elderly students. Interventions included clinical screening (Random Blood Sugar/RBS and blood pressure), elderly gymnastics, neurological counseling, and cognitive stimulation through psychosocial activities. Results: Screening revealed significant glycemic variability. Findings identified 3.7% of participants with critical hyperglycemia (RBS reaching 419 mg/dL and 435 mg/dL) and a case of hypoglycemia (53 mg/dL) posing immediate patient safety risks. The majority (72.6%) were within the normal range. Education successfully raised awareness of vascular risk management. Conclusion: Early detection through RBS testing effectively identifies high-risk individuals requiring urgent clinical referral. Regular health monitoring is crucial to maintain geriatric hemodynamic profiles.
